With many post office locations throughout the islands, sending postcards, letters, and packages from Trinidad and Tobago is easy. Main post office branches are open in Trinidad's capital, Port of Spain, and Tobago's capital, Scarborough. Along with the main post offices, these postal branches are located on both islands:
For post office customer service, dial 800-POST(800-7678). For courier service, 800-SEND(800-7363). Post offices are open 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., are closed one hour until 1:00 p.m., then stay open until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Costs of sending mail from either island depend on the mail's destination and how large it is. Generally, postage to the United States and Canada costs about $3.45(TT) for first-class letters and $2.25(TT) for postcards. Prices may be slightly higher for other destinations. When sending postage to or from Trinidad and Tobago, you will not need a ZIP code on either island. Just label the mail with the address of the establishment, the town, and'Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies'. Mail circulation on Trinidad and Tobago may be considered slow compared to some larger countries, and you may arrive home before your package. Airmail from the Caribbeans takes approximately seven to 14 days to reach the United States and Canada, and surface mail can take up to six weeks. Airmail going to the United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand can take from 2 to 4 weeks.
