Children under the age of three and seniors over the age of 65 ride free of charge, though a ticket is still necessary. Tickets bought in advance must be purchased through a travel agency or Internet cafe, while tickets purchased the day of departure may be bought at the terminals. These ferries fill up quickly, so don't delay buying your ticket if at all possible.
Passengers may begin checking in and boarding their ferry two hours before sailing, three hours if transporting a vehicle. Check in will close a half an hour before departure time to ensure that the vessel leaves on time, so be sure to arrive before in a timely manner.
The voyage between Trinidad and Tobago aboard a conventional ferry takes approximately five and a half hours.
Schedules change on a monthly basis. Visit the Port Authority Web site http://www.patnt.com/ for the most up-to-date- information.
