Having Fun in Trinidad and Tobago

With an abundance of natural beauty, Trinidad and Tobago are great spots for mountain biking. For those who prefer mobility and freedom on the road, motorbikes and scooters can whisk you around during your stay on the islands.

Mountain bikes are a popular way to explore Trinidad and Tobago's great outdoors. You can rent bikes and do your own exploring, or you can take a mountain bike tour with a friendly guide. Trails around the islands accommodate a number of different skill levels. Trail names include "Chocolate Cake" and "Wild Cow Trace." Bike rentals can start as low as $7(USD) and go up to $15(USD). Mountain biking tours, for varying skill levels, cost $40(USD) to $50(USD) and include a helmet, water bottle, snack, and guide.

For adventurous travelers willing to brave left-side driving, motorbikes and scooters are a good option and cost approximately $25(USD) per day. Roads can be narrow and crowded in Trinidad and Tobago. Drivers should always wear helmets and drive defensively on roads in foreign countries, and cars may generally be safer than motorbikes.

Some travelers prefer the adventure and freedom that a moped or bicycle provides. Mountain bikes can be a great way to explore the less developed parts of Trinidad and Tobago while taking in wildlife, vegetation, and breathtaking views. Although motorbike renters should always exercise the utmost caution while on the road, mopeds and motorcycles can allow travelers freedom and mobility as they tour the island.
